Profile
I am Borbála Kostyák a mostly happy mum of three. In 2006, we moved to Kissomlyó with my husband and hopefully we will live here for a long time. Our daughter, Zsóka (Elisabeth) was born in 2010, and in 2013 our twins, Matthew, and Laurence followed. Nowadays I teach English in a primary school, and I work as a representative for our village. My vision is to create a small private school, (Somolygó Tanoda) where the children and the teachers are both happy and content, and they learn and teach with pleasure.
Foreign languages and communication have a huge importance in my life. Since the secondary school, I have been teaching English for children and adults, and I also taught French and German for beginners. After finishing the secondary school specialised for English language, I joined university, on the faculty of humanities. I had two specialisations, journalism, and international communication. I finished my studies in 2005.
Even before the graduation I have had my high level English language exam, and I did my graduation of German language.
During the university years I have been starting learning French. Through my father, who has been living in France for more then twenty years, in 2005 I could spend a few month in Lyon, where I had been following a class at the institute Alliance Fracaise.
As a mum of three, most of my time I spend with my children, and I would spend as much time as I can with them, because I do think, that one of my most important duties as a parent is to be present in their lifes.
Besides I also feel, that I need to use my knowledge for activities I like, for example, teaching languages, writing, or helping foreigners with administration.
In the past few years I have been teaching groups of children and adults and I undertake private students or translation works as well.
Our village, Kissomlyó, is really colourful in nationalities, we have Austian, German, Belgian, Dutch, French, and Bulgarian inhabitans as well.
Initially I have been helping our here living foreign friends with administration, translation, interpretation, but with the time a lot of people contacted me, applying for my help, so from 2017 on I also undertake administration help for foreigners.
Besides all my activities, if time allowes me I deal with my old love: writing.
In 2017, with a good friend of mine, the artist Dorottya Kovács - who is illustrating my book- we published our first children's book. The title is Misi and the inordinate vegetables.
Our kids reached the school age, so nowadays I deal a lot with education. By getting to know more and more educational directions and methods I am trying to find an answer how the curiosity of children can be maintained in long terms.
My husband and I would like to ensure the possibility of an unstressed and joyful education for our children, so we decided that from the 2019/2020 schoolyear our kids will be so called private students. This means that instead of learning in an official school, they will learn in a tiny private school, where they can discover the world followed by their own and individual curriculum.
We would like to give them a balanced childhood, and a higher educational standard than the one which is now available in the public school sistem. Wider frames, individual values in focus, instead of burden of duty real engrossment and acquisition are our aims.
